Syclo, a provider of mobile solutions for workforce automation and management, revealed today that the large European utility TMVW implemented its SMART Work Manager application to streamline field operations.
Based in Belgium, TMVW manages water production, distribution and retail for about 500,000 customers. The utility turned to Syclo for help in improving multiple work processes, including in-stream infrastructure maintenance, distribution system management, and metering operations.
“We have sophisticated SAP (News - Alert) ERP and SAP MRS systems to plan and manage our work, but we felt we weren’t getting the efficiency we needed using paper forms and manual data capture in the field,” said Inge Opreel, Departments manager ICT at TMVW, in a statement. “With Syclo’s help, we replaced paperwork with a mobile solution that simplifies work dispatch, speeds data collection and integrates seamlessly with SAP ERP for real-time information flow.”
The SMART Work Manager was configured and implemented at TMVW by Syclo’s global partner Capgemini (News - Alert). The company’s mobility group had been trained and certified in Syclo’s Agentry development and implementation toolset, enabling it to handle the entire project from initial blueprinting to final handoff.
Capgemini is a technology advisor to TMVW and leveraged its knowledge of the utility’s business processes and the systems environment to design a solution that was an appropriate fit with TMVW’s workflows and data capture needs.
Rich Padula, founder and CEO of Syclo added, “The fact that the entire project was handled by a certified partner demonstrates that we can deploy and support mobility solutions no matter where the customer is, what language they speak or what their projects involve. Given the strong growth in demand for our solutions worldwide, I believe more of our deployments will be driven by the partner channel in 2012 and beyond.”
Syclo has helped over 750 companies streamline workflow and improve productivity with its mobile solutions. Syclo delivers quick ROI by offering rapidly deployable mobile software applications built on a configurable mobile Agentry platform.
In related TMCnet news, Satellite TV giant Dish Network and TOA Technologies (News - Alert) are staking claim on completing a rollout of a cloud-based mobile workforce management service through the deployment of TOA’s platform, ETAdirect, to Dish’s nationwide fleet of 16,000 field technicians. The central cloud-based platform has allowed the satellite operator to consolidate its technical field service operations and its field service activities into one system.
ETAdirect has seamlessly integrated with 35 other systems at Dish, including billing and CRM. The platform has decreased technician overtime by over two hours per week and has already provided 24 updates to the system without a major upgrade. Dish employees and third-party users use ETAdirect to manage customer appointments from precise appointment booking to completion of service.
