ExakTime Receives Patent for Wireless Employee Time Clock

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 13, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- ExakTime's rugged and wireless time clock has been awarded a patent for its unique method of tracking, storing and sending employee time records from the field to the office automatically via a cellular communication network, allowing management to review records anytime without having to retrieve them from remote job sites.

Remote workers clocking in on JobClock Hornet at a job site. Time punches are automatically transmitted to the office via cellular communication network.

JobClock Hornet, a battery-powered device with a cellular component configured to collect time stamps and transmit them, was issued patent #9,436,933 by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office on September 6, 2016.

The device is encased in military-grade ABS plastic composite of signature "hornet" yellow whic makes it weatherproof and mountable at any job site.

JobClock Hornet's long-lasting battery means you can leave it working in the field for three weeks on a single charge, and a back-up battery ensures you will not lose time stamps even after the primary battery runs down.

If timestamps are collected when the Hornet is out of cellular range, they are safely stored for syncing once cellular service becomes available again.

"ExakTime created a product that has revolutionized time and attendance management for the construction industry and beyond, and I'm so proud," said ExakTime CEO Tony H. Pappas. "Hornet is an indispensable source of savings for so many growing companies."

Since releasing Hornet in 2012, ExakTime has sold over 10,000 units and received more than 10.3 million transmissions from businesses ranging from construction, HVAC, roofing, masonry, and drywall to landscaping, plumbing, electric, field services and even personnel management.

The patent details Hornet's unique capabilities as both a portable digital time clock and one that transmits records automatically every hour, while going into sleep mode in between to preserve battery life.

This regular collection and transmission throughout the day allows an HR or payroll person to monitor whether a time punch was missed at lunch or otherwise, preventing problems that might arise with a system that automatically collects and compiles data only once a day or at the end of the week.

A 15-year leader in remote workforce management, ExakTime provides companies in a range of industries with hassle-free time tracking of office or field-based workers' hours, job activities, and locations in real-time with GPS and photo biometrics, increasing cash flow and giving your business the freedom to do more.
