Spok Boosts Clinical Workflows with New Name & Cloud Platform Upgrades

Spok, a healthcare communications provider based in Springfield, VA, is focused on improving care collaboration for clinical teams as they depend more and more on communications and secure messaging to get patient care done on time and efficiently.


Solutions to allow patients to communicate more closely with clinicians and improve care are being introduced today. A Grandview Research report on Patient Engagement Solutions 2019 - 2026 found that the global patient engagement solutions market size was valued at $12.86 billion in 2018 with a CAGR of 20.43 percent over the forecast period.

The company has now announced Spok Go, a new name for its cloud platform built specifically for the healthcare field and hospitals so that they have the flexibility they need and keeping required security top of mind.

In addition to a new product name, the solution has feature additions such as on-the-go visibility for clinicians so they spend less time trying to find an on-call staff as well as better visibility and control of those calls and messages from the mobile app. 

It’s also possible to now expedite test results when necessary so that patients are not left waiting for care and can be treated with urgency in situations that require speedy response.

Health providers and clinicians also have better control of their inbox with the latest feature additions so they can see important messages, alerts and other requests and prioritize them in one easy to view location.

Dr. Mark Weisman, chief medical information officer at Peninsula Regional Medical Center (PRMC) in Salisbury, Maryland commented on the benefits the offering provides saying, “One of the greatest advantages of Spok Go for PRMC is the ability to include more than 400 affiliated physicians in our secure messaging system, something we couldn’t do before. It has been incredible for us to see our feedback reflected in this new platform that ultimately helps us provide better care for our patients and helps alleviate administrative burden for our physicians.”
