Atlassian Acquires Percept.AI
According to a recent report from CRN, Atlassian (News - Alert), a major software development company based in Australia, recently announced the acquisition of US artificial intelligence company, Percept A.I.
Executives with Atlassian sought to acquire Percept.AI in order to enhance the automated support capabilities of the company’s ITSM software offering, Jira Service Management.
With Percept.AI’s highly advanced virtual agent technology, combined with its natural language processing capabilities, Jira Service Management support teams would be able to provide customers with quicker technical assistance at scale. Additionally, it would allow customers to receive personalized support at virtually any time of day, even if agents are unavailable.
“This acquisition builds on our previous investments in AI and machine learning, designed to help customers efficiently deliver great employee and customer support experiences at high velocity,” commented Edwin Wong, Atlassian’s head of project management, in a company blog post.
This acquisition comes at an exciting time for Atlassian's global development. The company reported US$1.3 billion in revenue during the second half of 2021, and recently revealed acquiring 10,000 net new customers in Q2 2022. With Percept.AI. resources and knowledge fully available, Atlassian seems to be well positioned to experience serious growth in the near future.
